Last Friday, the Rotary Club of Stone's Corner held its Annual Changeover Dinner at the Reflections Room, Pacific Golf Club, Carindale.
Our outgoing President David Hooper thanked his board and the club in general for a very successful year:
PDG Nick Curry presented Grizzly Blair with a Paul Harris Fellow for his outstanding contributions to the club over many years including his unstinting commitment to the Annual Art Spectacular.
PDG Nick Curry then presented PP Geoff Bail with a Sapphire Paul Harris Fellow for his many outstanding contributions to the club over many years including his drive and commitment to the club's RAWCS project in the Solomon Islands, his involvement with our sister club, the Rotary Club of Largs, and his organisation of the clubs involvement in the official opening of the Clem7 tunnel.
Incoming President Greg Condell introduced his board for the 2011-2012 Rotary Year.
In all, a great night was had by all.
The night's entertainment was provided by a group of three singers called Quatro, who provided a variety of very much appreciated musical interludes that were greeted by standing ovations.
RYTS is coming to D9630!
Nov. 27th thru Dec. 3rd 2011
Do you know any Year 11 or Year 12 School leavers?
RYTS is a 7 day residential camp aimed at high school leavers.
It has been successfully running in District 9640 for over 26 years. This will be the first time that RYTS will be run in D9630.
High school only prepares students for so much. This program will shift thinking and change lives.
The phrase 'I can't' will no longer be heard. 'We can', 'We will' and 'We have' will become the norm.
RYTS will:
• Create a shift of thinking.
• Equip participants with important life skills.
• Transform goals into reality.
• Ensure that the best self shines through.
• Allow laughter, tears and everything in between.
RYTS is run by a group of passionate volunteer leaders and a line up of awesome speakers ready to create an incredible week of memories.
For too long young people have been under equipped to deal with the transition out of high school to real life.
Come join the movement of change!
