First Fleet Cavalcade - February 27, 2010
The first 51 Private Vehicles
Our first major project for this calendar year was the First Fleet
Cavalcade where we organised a fleet of 51 vehicles that would drive
through the new CLEM7 Tunnel, as part of the Official Opening Ceremony
for this tunnel.
A little over $2,200 was raised from donations on the day, and cheques
for $1,100 were given to the Royal Children's Hospital, and the Lord
Mayor's Appeal.
The day was deemed to be quite successful by all participants, and
this was a great start to the Official Opening ceremony and
formal dinner later that evening. This event was broadly covered
by all forms of media, with the Cavalcade capturing two to
three nimutes prime spots on that night's TV News.
This was great exposure for Rotary.
